RHS Leek Oarsman F1 Seeds produce reliable, early maturing leeks with smooth, snow white shanks and excellent flavour. This British bred F1 hybrid has been developed for consistency, resilience and strong garden performance, making it an excellent choice for home gardeners and allotment growers alike.
Oarsman F1 is quick to establish and shows very good tolerance to rust, along with a slow bolting habit. This means plants remain standing well in the ground until harvest, offering flexibility and confidence during the growing season. The long, clean stems are ideal for autumn and early winter harvesting, delivering a mild, well balanced flavour that works beautifully in soups, stews, tarts and everyday cooking.
Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this variety has been recognised for its reliability and strong performance under UK growing conditions.
